Rethinking nutrition begins with mindful eating, optimizing nutrients to your unique needs, meal planning and shifting the mindset to view food as an ally and not the enemy! I help clients by working together with them to form new habits to create a sustainable, long-term love of food and love of self.
Rethinking Nutrition 6-week Personal Program is customized to be as unique as you. Individualized programs focus on foods you love with no calorie counting, no strict rules or restrictions and no unrealistic workout programs. Following an initial consultation, we work together to customize the program to suit your individual health needs and goals.
Each personal program includes weekly, scheduled live calls to discuss a new topic and/or current progress, open email support, 6 weeks of custom meal plans (including detailed recipes and shopping lists), and a final progress meeting plus individual next steps guide.
We will focus on:
Ditching diet culture - getting past the programming and working from an anti-diet framework
Setting health goals - without numbers-based goals, learn to set goals focused on how you want to feel in your body and in your day-to-day life
Mindful eating - learning to understand your true hunger and allow yourself to fully enjoy the foods you love without guilt or shame
Meal Planning - without calorie counting and measuring, learn to properly meal plan to maximize nutrients to support your health goals and lessen any symptoms or health concerns
Moving to feel good - exploring movement and exercise for enjoyment and a source of freedom not punishment
Sustainability - create long-term habits to maintain a healthy, balanced relationship with food, movement and with your body
"You have met and surpassed all my expectations. You were the kick in the butt I needed. Just to have someone knowledgeable to talk to and gain menu ideas has been a huge bonus. I feel more energy, less bloating and I am determined to keep these new habits moving forward."
As a Holistic Nutritional Consultant, I work with clients to help establish a lifestyle that helps them achieve their goals and work toward their optimal health. Through my work, and in my personal life, I see the influences of diet culture and the harmful effects it has on our self-image and our lives. I'm dedicating my future as a Holistic Nutritional Consultant to help clients dismantle diet culture and to rethink nutrition.
Do you remember how old you were when you were first impacted by diet culture? Hearing about 'problem areas', starting fad diet, the Special K Diet ads, a random number that was purported as 'what a woman should weigh', calorie counting, low carb, Atkins, keto... the list is endless, as are the ways society tell us (mainly women) that we hold more value when we make ourselves smaller.
Let's change that conversation. I'm working with clients who want to get past the negative self talk, the diet culture and horrible habits instilled by a lifetime surrounded by media, fad diets and misinformation. Without weight loss as a primary goal, weight loss can be a natural side effect of loving yourself, eating food you enjoy, exercising to feel good and creating sustainable habits.
Ditch any negative diet talk to fall in love with yourself, with food and with your body!
Wondering where to start? Here are a few ideas:

"After months of eating comfort food, I needed to re-evaluate and reset my family’s eating habits. I felt that I was always struggling to put together a nutritious meal at the last minute. Leyette came to my rescue. After attending her “Making the Most of Meal Planning” workshop, I contacted her for an initial consultation. She suggested a family plan to structure snacking and to support healthy breakfasts and dinners.
What a treat every Sunday, to receive an outline of menus for the week. A shopping list was always included so that I could easily determine what I had on hand, and what was needed. The recipes were beautifully organized, with tips and tricks for food substitutions, enhanced flavouring, meal make-ahead’s, and makeovers for leftovers.
I now have an arsenal of recipes to mix and match breakfasts, dinners and “snacks to go”. I can easily plan for a week and use leftovers efficiently. Communication was outstanding. I could contact Leyette with any question and receive a timely response. In the months ahead, I will continue to build on what I have learned, knowing that Leyette’s support is always available. Thank you for making this such a positive experience, Leyette."
